Stonycreek Township is the only first class township in Cambria County and the only one between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. The township is made six (6) separate neighborhoods, which are known as Oakland, part of the Belmont area, Highland Park area, which includes part of Upper Moxham, Riverside area and part of Solomon Run. Being a Township of the First Class Stonycreek Township is governed by five- (5) member board of commissioners made up of (1) commissioner from each of the four (4) wards located within the township and one (1) commissioner that is elected “At-Large”. The board of commissioners is responsible for governing the township. The current board of commissioners has a total of over 87 years of experience in governing the township and has managed to keep taxes at a minimum while providing outstanding continuous services to our residents.
